Could you eat three Atlas steak and fries meals?

Three steaks champ: Antuoni pictured with Atlas' Amy
Could you eat three Atlas Steak and Fries meals? Turns out Adriano Antuoni can!

Holidaying in New Zealand, Antuoni decided to drop into Atlas on the recommendation of his friend Gigi. He ordered one rare steak & fries, decided that another would be a good idea and then proceeded to order a third. Eating every last bit on each plate, he certainly a new record at Atlas!

Hailing from Cannalonga, a little village in the heard of the Cilento National Park in Italy; Adriano told us when he heard how nice Lake Wakatipu and its surrounds were were he had to visit.

Adriano said of his trip, "I enjoyed my days in Queenstown... and the steaks obviously! And I might just be back to start an Italian business in town!".

No doubt if Antuoni comes back to set up an Italian business in QT, he'll be popping into Atlas for a steak or two... or three!

Guest wine for February – Hawkeshead Riesling

We have the Hawkeshead Riesling on our drinks list as a guest wine this month.

This Riesling is made just up the road in Bendigo and is lovely and dry. It has aromas of ginger, spice and blossom along with spicy floral notes and the minerality that is typical of many Central Otago wines.

The grapes for this wine are harvested from selected blocks in Lowburn. The combination of free draining soil and long hours of sunshine make for lively fruit with a gentle acidity. The grapes are hand picked, whole bunch pressed and fermented at cool temperatures to retain the fresh, fruity characteristics.

We think a fitting food match would be our whole sole main meal or our squid tapas.
