Who's this in the Jetstar magazine?

Jetsetter
If you've been jetting around during April and have flown with Jetstar, you may have spotted a familiar person their in-flight magazine.

Earlier in the year Jetstar approached Atlas to  asked for a little local knowledge for a feature in their magazine. Our General Manager, Amy, stepped up to give them the low down on her favourite spots around QT.

Garage Project Guest Beer

We've got a new guest beer in for the month.

Aro Noir, from Wellington's amazing Garage Project, is a pitch black full flavoured stout. It is blended from four malts along with Columbus and Summit hops. There's a citric bitterness and aroma that marries nicely with the roasty malt character.

The beer is inspired by the darkness of a Wellington winter in Aro Valley, but we reckon it'll fit in quite nicely in the Wakatipu Basin too!

Garage Project Aro Noir | 7%

End of Summer Party 2015 - April 26th!

Folks enjoying last year's party
It's sad to say goodbye to the summer season... in our books though, that's a good reason for a knees up. Our end of summer party will be on the April 26th. Not the last day of the gondola this year, but we bought it forward to coincide with the long weekend. Before the Atlas party kicks off the Wynyard World Champs downhill race, the last in the Queenstown series, is taking place. People normally wear their country colours to this race so feel free to do the same at Atlas on the night - to keep the global theme going!

The party starts at 5pm with the prize raffle from 8pm and we'll be expanding into neighbouring Farelli's Trattoria so that there's plenty of room for everyone to come down and enjoy themselves. The more the merrier! And, as usual, we will be holding a mega raffle to raise some coin for the good folks at QMTBC. Many local businesses have generously donated to the raffle, the prizes so far include:

Also many thanks to Southern Hospitality for helping out with the additional glassware!

Raffle tickets are now sale
at Atlas: 2 for $5, 5 for $10, 12 for $20.

Check out the snaps of last year's event below by Callum Wood to get you in the mood!

What's on: End of Season Party and are you a Steak Champion?

The days of open windows and eating alfresco may be numbered but there's still heaps going on...

A little update on some of the things we will have going on at Atlas over the next few weeks. As the snow the other day proved, the cold months are definitely on the way. To celebrate the end of another epic season we'll be having our usual fundraising shin-dig for QMTBC with the usual awesome raffle, food specials and fun. We're holding it a little earlier this year, on Anzac weekend, so you'll be able to relax and enjoy the festivities without the prospect of work the next day! More details to follow very soon.

Our next exciting event is for all you Atlas steak and fries lovers out there. From May 1st until June 13th we are going to be counting who eats the most steaks and fries meals... Week by week we will be keeping tally and the person who has eaten the most by June 13th will win a free steak and fries meal a day until the mountain is scheduled to close on October 4th! Full T&Cs and deets will be posted here soon. Could you be our Winter 2015 Steak Champion..?

As the seasons change so does the Atlas menu. Our chefs are working on new dishes for the colder months so look out for our new menu coming soon. Drinks specials in the pipeline are a red ale and of course, mulled wine. Can't do winter without a drop of vin chaud!

And finally if you're flying Jetstar take a peek at their in-flight magazine for April, you may recognise a certain person one of the pages...

Until next time!
